FAST, WEIGHTLESS COVERAGEApply with a brush or a sponge for coverage that it would normally take three products to achieve. The result should look sheer and luminescent and feel weightless. NON-COMEDOGENIC AND OIL-FREEUnder a microscope, the mineral crystals look like overlapping fish scales. These crystals form a filter that allows the free exchange of gasses. The minerals are non-comedogenic, and we use no oils in any of our base formulas. We have many accounts from acne patients testifying to improvement in their skins since using our mineral makeup. MINIMUM ALLERGY RISKAllergies and sensitivities are usually caused by substances that cause irritation to the skin. Substances that most commonly cause these sensitivities are chemical preservatives, chemical dyes (usually labeled as FD&C), perfume and alcohol. Reactions are particularly common in skins that have been compromised in some fashion, as through a weakened immune system, sun damage, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, etc. Our makeup contains none of these sensitizers. In fact, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are anti-inflammatories and help calm the skin. SENSITIZERSAll our individual Material Safety Data Sheets of raw materials support that irritation, burning and stinging of the skin are not caused by our ingredients. Further, our processing does not result in any chemical change in the raw materials, so the reaction of the mixed ingredients remains the same as the individual ingredients. We have eliminated from our powders all perfume, chemical dyes and chemical preservatives. These are the top three sensitizers. FD&C DYESWhen the letters FD&C precede a color, it means that the color has
been approved by the FDA for use in foods, drugs and cosmetics. When D&C
precede the color, it signifies that it can be used only in drugs or
cosmetics. FD&C dyes are derived from petroleum or coal tar. Coal tar
is a thick liquid or semisolid tar obtained from bituminous coal which
contains many constituents, including benzene, xylenes, naphthalene,
pyridine, quinoline, phenol, and creosol. The main concern about coal
tar derivatives is that they cause cancer in animals, but they are also
frequent sources of allergic reactions, particularly skin rashes and
hives. (A Consumer's Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients, Ruth
Winter, M.S.) Chemical dyes are also often comedogenic, especially the
red dyes used in blush. CONCENTRATED PIGMENT (COVERAGE)The word "pigment" usually means a colored or white compound that is
insoluble in a solvent. (The word "dye" generally refers to a chemical
compound, most often of coal tar origin, which is soluble.) Our pigments
are made from micronized mineral elements only. Other cosmetics
almost always contain a filler like talcum powder which is used to
stretch a small amount of pigment a long way. Talc is usually the first
thing to appear on ingredient lists, which by law must be arranged in
order of proportion of content from large to small. Talc is drying,
translucent and cheap. It slides off the face, falls into cracks and
accentuates lines because of its matte finish. (All matte finishes are
aging.) Talc has no camouflage capability. ADHEREBecause of the micronization process our mineral particles undergo,
they bind together on application. When applied to a clean, moisturized
skin the surface tension this creates overcomes gravity and holds the
minerals tightly to the skin. The result is that they do not run, crease
or smear and will only come off with a cleanser. ANTI-INFLAMMATORYTitanium dioxide and zinc oxide have anti-inflammatory properties and will help to calm erythema. Zinc oxide is also an anti-microbial. |
PRODUCTSAmazing Base ®Is made from micronized minerals, which have an SPF 20. Amazing Base is a concealer, foundation, powder and sunscreen all in one. Use it wet or dry. It comes packaged in a jar containing 10.5 grams with a sifter, a sponge and a gold lid. It is available in 10 colors, which are divided into cool, warm and neutral tones. The cool colors have a pink undertone and the warm tones a yellow. On the color chart they are arranged from light to dark. Amazing Base is best applied with our chisel powder brush for normal coverage and with our pink flocked sponge for heavier coverage. You may also mix it into a moisturizer to make a cream foundation or with our D2O facial spritz for a liquid foundation. PurePressed ® BaseIs made from micronized minerals with the addition of antioxidants like pine bark extract and natural Vitamin E. It is slightly sheerer and more matte than the loose powders. PurePressed Base is available in the same colors as the loose base (except for Cool Sand) plus eight darker shades ranging from deep gold to mahogany. It's packaged in a compact with a mirror and sponge. PurePressed Base is best applied with our Handi brush for normal coverage. Liquid Minerals®Our light-diffusing, soft-focus minerals are now encapsulated with
ingredients that can replenish the cellular layers of the epidermis. A boon for all skin types, Liquid Minerals® makes skin look more youthful, diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, minimizes pores, evens out skin tone and adheres so well there is minimal transference. You can immediately see and feel the difference in the look and health of the skin. PurePressed® Matte Finish PowderUse this under or over the mineral base to control oil and shine. Apply with a brush and touch up with the puff provided. There is no SPF in this product. PurePressed ® Blush and Eye ShadowsThe only ingredients used in addition to those in the bases are the
colorants, which are all inorganic except for carmine. All our eye
colors are chosen to bring out and enhance the color and shape of the
eye. PureMoist® LipColours and LipSheres ®are made without chemical dyes, preservatives or animal products
except for beeswax and carmine. An interesting statistic is that if
lipstick is worn every day, the individual will consume two tubes a
year. That is a lot of product over a lifetime, particularly since most
will contain chemical dyes and synthetic preservatives. Our lipsticks contain no perfumes. The reason many lipsticks are perfumed is to cover the unpleasant smell of post-slaughter products. Consumers are often sensitive to both. Our formula is extremely moisturizing and has sun protection from the minerals it contains. PureGloss ® for LipsMany lip products, especially glosses and balms, contain petroleum products. Petroleum draws moisture out of the lips and, therefore, causes them to dry and chap. Our glosses are in a base of white lily gel, which nourishes and moisturizes. They are formulated with a lemon-ginger flavor. Lip Drink ® SPF 15This colorless lip balm really is a drink for the lips. It contains
no petroleum-derived products which dry out the lips. People who are
regular users of petroleum-based lip balms are on a continual drying
cycle , the more they use, the drier their lips become. Lip and Eye PencilsMade with conditioning oils and waxes and colored with our same protective pigments. Because we use no FD&C dyes, our pencils can be used anywhere on the face. They are perfectly interchangeable between eyes and lips. Their soft formula lends itself to blending and being used as a lip base. Apply a pencil base and layer with a lip gloss for a very current look. Cream To Powder EyelinersFour trios of colors from a true black to jewel tones. This creamy formula is easily applied with our Eyeliner/Brow brush and can be smudged with the sponge end of the brush or with a finger. Once set, it will stay. Can also be used as an eye shadow or to color brows. Lid PrimersTwo colors, Canvas and Petal. These can be worn alone or with shadows on top. They will help those with oily eyelids to maintain their shadows without creasing. They also add a subtle highlight to the lid. PureLash ® MascaraA mild formula that contains no lacquers, shellac or petroleum-based products. It doesn't smear or flake and is water-resistant. We have excellent feedback from customers who have not been able to wear mascara for years because of allergic reactions. It is available in black and brown and is fitted with a hollow fiber brush. This is the most expensive brush on the market but it's worth it! It's straight and full, gives even coverage and separates the lashes. PureLash ® Lengthening MascaraContains no lacquers, shellac or petroleum-based products. This mascara has the addition of wheat protein to condition and curl the lashes, and fibers to add length to the natural lashes. It uses the same hollow fiber brush as our original mascara. Available in black, brown and navy. PureLash ®ConditionerA conditioning formula for the lashes that can be worn alone or under mascara. If applying under mascara, it will add thickness and length to the lashes. Wait for it to dry before applying mascara. PureBrow ® ColourPackaged in a tube with a mascara wand. Lightly stroke onto brows to add color or a highlight. It will give the appearance of darker hairs in the brows. For an optimum effect, use two PureBrow colors. PureBrow ® Fix & MascaraPackaged in a double-ended tube, it can be used to hold brows in place or as a clear mascara. Use the comb for brows and the brush for lashes. 24-Karat Gold DustContains 48% 24-karat food-grade gold. This luxurious gold powder can be brushed on eyes, cheeks and lips. Mix it with hair gel and work it into the hair or a moisturizer for the shoulders and decolletage. It shimmers on the skin rather than glittering. Now available in Bronze and Silver. ONE-4-ALL ® KitsContains a triple eye shadow, two cream to powder liners, a half-moon of Complete Colour and two lip glosses. The double-ended brush can be used for eye liners and shadows. The three kits are designed in warm, cool and neutral colors. The kits are an ideal way of simplifying makeup application. Once the base is on, everything but mascara is available in the kit. Don't be afraid to mix the colors and make them uniquely individual. Disappear®This new camouflage cream is so packed with pigment that it will even cover black tattoos! Better yet, Disappear won't just cover breakouts but will also help them to disappear permanently. This new elegant, liposome-based formula contains seaweed extracts; superoxide dismutase, a copper-containing protein enzyme that decomposes free radicals; and the potent antioxidant green tea extract. Green tea extract isn't just an antioxidant but has also been documented to combat acne bacteria. It's patented applicator allows you to apply this with or without a brush. Circle\Delete ® ConcealerAn eye treatment as well as a concealer containing conditioners like jojoba esters and avocado oil, both high in vitamins A, C, D and E, green tea extract - a potent antioxidant, and vitamin K. Vitamin K is thought to help repair blood vessels that cause some dark circles as well as acting as a skin lightener. Apply with a camouflage brush. D2O (Heavy Water)Heavy Water (Deuterium Oxide) really is heavier. Its hydrogen molecule is twice the weight of the molecule in ordinary water, which makes D20 10% heavier than H2O. This is why it stays on the skin longer helping to hydrate and plump the cells. A must for post-laser! Some makeup artists believe that D2O is the quintessential last step in applying our makeup. Mix it with loose minerals for an exceptional liquid foundation. Research has found that:
Our Heavy Water contains additional ingredients like Shea Butter and Amino-guanidine to help soothe and condition the skin. Balance®This new hydration spritz was formulated specifically to help balance
the skin's oil production and pH. It is packed full of ingredients that
help to battle free radical and microbial damage. Magic Mitt ®MAGIC MITT quickly and completely removes makeup using NO cleanser. This cleansing process promotes the health of the skin because it does not affect the skin's natural acid mantle. When this beneficial barrier is intact, it aids the skin in protecting itself from harmful and invasive bacteria. It is made from a new generation of specially knitted micro-fibers many times thinner than a human hair. When wet they create a hydromechanical process that breaks the surface tension of the oils that bond makeup to the skin. This emulsion is then easily swept away by the mitt. It will even remove mascara! Gently exfoliates while it works. The important thing to realize about this makeup is its versatility. It can be as simple or as intricate as you wish. Blend base colors together, use blush on eyes, lipsticks as blush, brow colors as hair touch-ups. It's being used on film sets and television, fashion photo shoots, in salons and spas, and by the most highly regarded physicians in the world. This is what makeup should be. It beautifies the skin and makes it look younger; it assists in its overall health, and gives meaningful protection.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUES![]() ![]() Amazing Base ® Loose PowdersTo release the minerals, remove the seal from the sifter or puncture holes in the seal for a more controlled flow. Do not remove the sifter. Replace the lid, turn the jar upside down and tap the bottom of the jar. A small quantity of the minerals will now be available in the sifter. If you are working patient to patient, tip the minerals from the sifter into a receptacle like a shallow dish. To choose the correct colour, test a little on the jaw line. Try to do this in natural light if possible. We recommend beginning with our Natural and Amber bases because they have the same value, but Natural has a pink undertone and Amber a yellow. It will be easy to see whether to go lighter, darker, more pink or more yellow. The minerals are much more forgiving than conventional makeup - one shade will suit a wide variety of skin tones because the minerals are light reflective and refractive and do not absorb light the way matte makeup does. Cleanse the face and moisturize. Allow the moisturizer to absorb. Then, lightly dip a chisel powder brush into the powder, and use the lid or dish to work the powder into the brush so it's evenly distributed. We like to use our Chisel Powder Brush because it gives you absolute control especially in areas around the eyes and nose. The minerals should cling to the bristles all the way around the brush and not just on the ends. Don't use a brush with a large head. This will make the powders fly. Apply the minerals in thin layers using downward strokes. If you've put on too much, use our flocked sponge to remove any excess. (It's easy to overdo when you are first working with these powders because they are so concentrated.) Then spot with the sponge if you need additional coverage.
PurePressed ® Base PowdersThe sponge that comes with the compact should only be used for touch-ups. We recommend applying PurePressed with the brush we designed especially for these powders - The Handi. It's made from squirrel and pony for the softest feel and the most even coverage. It's also small enough to throw into a bag. It's a "go-everywhere, "do-anything" brush - use it for blush and for blending. Lightly brush The Handi over the pressed powders and apply in downward strokes. Our pressed powders are more matte than the loose, which is especially good for those with oily skins.
LOOSE AND PRESSED POWDERS FOR CAMOUFLAGEOur powders will cover any type of redness. The following directions will tell you how to camouflage erythema from laser resurfacing, but the same techniques apply to rosacea, acne, birthmarks, etc. Cleanse the face and moisturize. Allow the moisturizer to absorb. If you are dealing with post-laser, the skin will be very dry, so you may want to apply more moisturizer than normal. Test for the correct complexion colour. We usually use a yellow-based powder to cover redness, but it's worth trying the complexion colour first to see if it will cover without the help of the yellow base. Favourite bases for concealing redness are: Warm Sienna, Amber and Warm Silk. For darker complexions: Golden Glow, Caramel, Autumn. We recommend using our Flocked Sponge to apply the first layer of powder because it will spread the minerals evenly; it's soft (very important for lasered skin, which is extremely sensitive), and it's washable, dries quickly and will last indefinitely. With the flocked sponge pick up some of the powder and press it into the sponge for even distribution. Now with a pressing, rocking motion try the colour on some of the erythema. If it doesn't completely cover, we suggest that you apply Warm Sienna first. This base will immediately neutralize the red. YOU DO NOT NEED GREEN! Green works for artists on canvasses; on skin it gives a gray, ghost-like pallor. Apply a thin layer of Warm Sienna on the red areas. Layer again if
you need to. Now, brush the complexion color over the entire face taking special care to blend it into the areas already covered. If the powders appear to accentuate wrinkles or look dry because the skin is flaky from the resurfacing, spritz the face with our D20. Be aware that for several days after laser the skin will flake. This doesn't look very attractive even with the minerals on. To counteract this, the patient may work moisturizer into her/his skin right on top of the powders. It will absorb through. Touch up again if necessary. Blush is a very useful tool for raising the patient's morale. She's looked in the mirror many times and wondered what on earth she's done to herself and whether she'll ever be normal again. She is going to be amazed at the coverage she has with the powders and is now in a position to appreciate what she will look like without the distraction of the erythema. You can lift her spirits by applying a touch of blush. Stay away from pink tones and stick with the neutral or brown blushes like Sheer Honey, Cinnamon or Bronzer. If she's had laser on her eyelids, brush the base on but also go over with Ecru eye shadow. Put a quick dab of PureGloss on, and she's ready to face the world.
Disappear ®This concealer started out with the challenge of developing something
that would solve a problem, namely covering tattoos. Not only does it
solve that problem, it contains ingredients ingredients that may help to
clear blemishes and also act as an antioxidant on the skin. Circle\Delete ® ConcealerThe ultimate undereye concealer. Apply with a camouflage brush
for an even application and the ability to get into areas like the
corner of the eye. Apply in thin layers rather than trying to cover
everything at once. Blend the duo colours for an exact match to the skin
or for a shade lighter. Circle\Delete can be applied on top of or
underneath the mineral powders. If the skin is wrinkled, Circle\Delete
can be used alone. The dark peach colour in Circle\Delete #2
effectively neutralizes blue, so it can also be used as a concealer for
surgical bruises. Brush Circle\Delete around lips and allow to dry before applying lip colour. This will help to prevent feathering. CoverCare ® ConcealerThis was developed as a true camouflage to help plastic surgeons cover bruising since a shadow of the bruise usually shows through the powders. But it is also effective covering birthmarks, scarring, hyperpigmentation, psoriasis, etc. CoverCare is a concentrated oil-free cream. When it dries, it will stay on the skin until it is removed with a cleanser. The best way to use CoverCare is with our Camouflage Brush. This gives an even coverage and ultimate control. It is better to apply it in thin layers rather than trying to cover everything at once. Let the product dry between layering. If you are going to apply the mineral powders on top, don't let the last layer dry completely. Apply the powders while CoverCare is still tacky - the powders will adhere better. Be sure to feather the edges so there is no demarcation line.
PurePressed ® Matte Finish PowderThis powder is specially formulated to help those with oily skins. It will absorb oil and cut shine. Apply with the Handi brush under or over the mineral bases. Experiment to see which works best for the individual. Touch up with the puff provided in the compact. PurePressed ® BlushA little goes a long way! Use our White Fan brush so that you can see how much you've picked up and because the brush's contoured bristles will help to blend. Knock off any excess. The perfect blush shade is the colour of the cheek when flushed or exercising. Begin the blush on the apple of the cheek (the apple of the cheek is the fleshy part that protrudes when you smile) and brush upward and outwards along the cheekbone. Layer two colours - a neutral first and then a pop of a brighter colour on the apple of the cheek. This looks more natural than just one colour.
PurePressed ® Eye ShadowIt's always a good idea to brush the base powder on the eyelid to even out the colour and for the sun protection. Then use one of our eye shadow base shades like Ecru, Shell or Oyster from lashes to under brow. Apply with the Eye Shader brush. Concentrate a darker shade on the outer corner of the eye and sweep across the lid with the Eye Contour brush. Use the Eye Liner/Brow brush and a darker shadow to draw a smoky line as close to the top and bottom lashes as possible. Flip the brush over and use the sponge tip to smudge the line. Use the shadows wet or dry. A wet line has an amazing "stay" ability as well as giving a deeper colour.
PureBrow ® ColourThe brow colour is in a mascara wand with a hollow fibre brush. The wiper is specially designed to take off enough colour so that it doesn't "glob" on the brows. Gently stroke the brush onto the brow hairs using upward motions. Don't apply too much at once. Use two colours for the ultimate natural effect. Comes in Blonde, Auburn, Brunette, Deep Brown and Raven (use Raven for those with very dark to black hair). Use the darker colours like Raven to cover grey hairs in brows. PureLash ® MascaraA gentle, water resistant formula that contains no shellac or petroleum products. If you are going to layer mascara, don't wait for each application to dry. This is what makes lashes stick together. Comes in black and brown.
PureLash ® Lengthening MascaraGentle and water resistant with no shellac or petroleum products. It contains wheat protein to curl lashes and hollow fibres to lengthen them. Again, layer and don't wait for layers to dry. Apply in an upward sweeping motion. Comes in black, brown and navy.
PureMoist ® LipColourAlways use a pencil base as it helps to keep colour on and gives depth to the overall colour. Apply it with a lip brush. If you apply the pencil directly, blotting it will make it stay longer. Then apply a PureMoist LipColour or PureGloss on top. No heavy, dark lines. They are dated and make the lips look smaller. Remember that lips have no oil glands, and they need the moisturizing, conditioning formula contained in our LipColours, LipSheres and PureGloss. We use no petrolatum because it dries out the lips.
